Tracking the Truth
Book One- Security Hounds Investigations
Roman Wolfe has struggled all his life to find a family to belong to. He has finally found it with the Wolfe family, including siblings and an adopted mom, Beth. He has just left his military service and is now in business with his siblings. They run a company called Security Hounds. It is a private investigative company that uses bloodhounds to help investigate cases. Roman is getting used to his bloodhound, Wally, who has not had much experience with tracking. One day, while Roman is testing Wally, he comes across a young woman who almost drowns by someone trying to kill her. Her name is Emery Duncan. Roman rescues her and is in shock to find out she is the daughter of his former mentor who is in prison for murder.
As Roman investigates why Emery is being targeted, he realizes that there may be a connection to her father’s case. Could it be possible that her father was innocent? Through all of this, Roman develops feelings for her and Emery develops feelings for Roman. Is there a future for them in the midst of this complicated case?
I really enjoyed this novel. It was a well done mystery, and also a sweet romance. Both Roman and Emery are flawed characters dealing with their own obstacles and having very complex family issues. And they must learn to lean on each other to overcome these obstacles. Also, Wally is a hilarious bloodhound that brings much character to the novel. I highly recommend this novel.
