In the second installment of the Secret from Grandma’s Attic, at a flea market, sisters Amy Allen and Tracy Doyle come across a painting that used to belong to their grandmother. They discover that the painting was stolen in the 1980s. Throughout the novel, the sisters, along with their cousin, Robin, determine what had happened to the painting, which leads them to an interesting World War II mystery regarding art in Germany. Meanwhile, Amy worries when Matt and Jana’s biological mother expresses interest in keeping her parental rights. Amy wants to adopt her foster children, but this recent development is threatening that. And Amy’s faith in God is tested.
This was an engaging mystery with some nice twists and turns. The overarching subplot of Amy and her foster children makes this cozy mystery stand out. This particular cozy is much more family oriented, which in my opinion makes it a more enjoyable read.
