Seeking Simon
Book 4- Rescued Hearts of the Civil War
Daviana Spalding wants to leave Georgia and make more out of her life than owning a piece of land. Simon McNeil wants a fresh start. He has a checkered past and spent time in a Confederate prison. He is looking for redemption and decides to travel back home to Alabama. But his journey is halted when he contracts malaria and is bedridden. He is dependent on strangers to help him, including Daviana. As Daviana nurses him, he becomes attracted to her. So, when Daviana is in danger of losing her home, Simon rescues her by saying he is her fiancé.
Even though this engagement is used to save Daviana’s land, are Simon and Daviana developing real feelings for one another? More importantly, can they be honest with one another about their feelings? Because as they continue this engagement, outside forces are threatening to tear them and this plan apart.
This was a very unique novel filled with sweet romance, some suspense, and redemption. The Civil War is not a topic seen much in current Christian historical fiction, so this was a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend it.
