I have started reading a series (I’m on book #2) by Stephanie Barron. Each book is seen as a series of journal entries from Jane Austen’s perspective documenting her adventures solving certain mysteries. The series does its best being true to Jane Austen’s real life; it integrates real people in her life with fictional mysteries. It is an interesting concept. In my opinion, Austen is a rather logical individual and actually makes a good ameateur sleuth. If you read her novels, you learn that Austen understands human nature. In college, I refered to her as a humanist, someone who understands the human condition.
Book Two is entitled Jane and the Man of the Cloth. When I finish it, I will post a review to Substack. I’m making this free to everyone, so please forward to friends, if you think they are interested. Also, if you come across other books inspired by Jane Austen, even if it is a modern adaptation of Jane Austen, please let me know and I will write reviews for those books as well.
