In the second installment of the Addie Masters Mysteries, the town of Rockport is focused on the annual bake sale and competition. The winner of the competition will be given the Golden Whisk Award. To make things more intense, a celebrity chef is brought in as a surprise guest judge. Disaster strikes when the celebrity chef suffers an allergic reaction and dies. Addie’s nemesis, Kennedy Graves, is banned from the competition for using almond extract. Addie offers to prove Kennedy is innocent of the murder. As Addie investigates, she discovers that each of the local bakers had a motive to dislike the celebrity chef. Was the motive and dislike, however, big enough to commit murder?
This was a nice engaging cozy mystery with Christian themes. Addie helping out someone who does not like her perfectly exemplifies treating your enemies just like your friends. The mystery was engaging and there was even a touch of sweet romance. If you are a cozy mystery fan, I recommend it.
