Author of Contemporary Christian Romance Novel
What inspired you to write this story?
I wanted to write a romance that involved elements of which I’m familiar as a therapist. Also, I wanted the protagonist to find a creative way to reach the man she spurned. What better way than storytelling?
What kind of research did you have to do for this story?
I had to research the hotel in Dubai. I’ve been amazed by its glamour and shape. Also, I needed to research the national park in that area. Long ago, I read about camel beauty contests in the Wall Street Journal, so I mentioned it in my novel.
What was the easiest aspect of writing this story?
The characters. I had a very loving but fierce mother, so I wanted to add a mother-daughter relationship within this novel.
How did you incorporate Christian themes into your story?
Right from the beginning, I mentioned that faith saved the male protagonist from becoming even more depressed. Also, I brought in Christian Yoga which does exist as well as taking a non-Christian theatrical production and creating a Christian version. Lots of other displays.
What do you like about the genre you write in?
Romantic love delights most people, and in these secular times, I wanted to create an old-fashioned love story infused with wounds, healing, personal responsibility, and love with depth.
